Time to Practice What I Preach
Because I've been touting the ability of Twitter to do much more than "microblog", I've gone ahead and added it to my site. To be honest, I've had the account for a while, but it's been a big decision to go ahead and take the change live. One of the guiding principles for writing here has always been to keep this focused on design and related topics. Sure, I may have posted a video link to Sheldon, but at the end of the day I have kept things clean. For example, there was the temptation to ad Google AdSense to the page. The moral compass in my gut, however, decided that it would not only break the page layout but would run contrary to my goals here: this is not meant to make money, even though money would be good. The purpose is to write and to expand my skills and knowledge in an attempt to provide a useful resource for others. Help you, help me? As time went on, however, I came to realize that it made no sense to tell people to adopt a marketing and communication tool that I myself wasn't using. To that end, I've found it necessary to add it to the site.
